Garlic I happened to watch a children's science program one day. It showed an experiment on how garlic is used to cure a man's cold. The man's face twitched from having to eat a sandwich full of garlic but it was his job and he hadn't got a choice. At the end of the program, he nodded that his cold did get much better and that began my belief in the miracle of garlic. The children hate me when I made them eat garlic bread. I have tried the garlic bread from the stores but those do not have enough garlic in them. Thus they don't work as well as when I made them. What I used to make was to spread butter on bread and sprinkle a teaspoonful of chopped garlic and toast it. Later I modified that and add brown sugar with the chopped garlic, put a slice of cheese on top and toast that too. The latter recipe prove to be kinder to the palette and now my cooking never goes without garlic. Another recipe I like was to sautee a tablespoonful of chopped garlic with a tablespoon of olive oil. Add diced tomatoes and pour in chicken stock. I now love garlic. Whenever I have colds, this will be my first cure before the orange (I think eating oranges is refreshing when the nose is stuffed). Just for my safety, maybe you should consult your physician before trying out my recipes.
